Ducks in a Row

Ducks in a row

About this pattern:

It’s wild how the stamp for this print and eventual pattern came about. Let me tell you! I was getting back into stamp carving. I would start out with a large block of Speedy Carve pink rubber material. I would transfer smaller images onto the rubber material and then cut them out.

The result is often a bunch of oddly shaped scraps of rubber from in-between my transferred images. One such scrap had a very unique shape to it. I patted it into the closest ink pad and pressed it onto some paper I had lying around. Turns out there was nick in the surface. And the resulting print looked to me like - a duck!

Right now, I am drawn to smaller scale patterns; simple, not overly complicated. So I scanned in my completely accidental scrap-turned-super-cute-duck print, and now we have Ducks in a Row!
